Welcome to Scents of Connection, the storytelling home of SANCTUAIRE.
I created SANCTUAIRE with a simple belief: that scent has the power to connect us — to memory, to place, to heritage, and ultimately, to ourselves. After years spent working in construction and project management in hotel and hospitality spaces, I learned that the environments we inhabit shape our emotional lives far more than we often realize. Calm isn’t accidental — it’s crafted. It’s engineered through intention.
For me, that intention begins with beeswax. Intelligent, ancient, and naturally purifying, beeswax is the heart of our work. When paired with thoughtful design, it becomes more than a candle — it becomes a moment, a ritual, a shift in the atmosphere. Alongside our candles, our home fragrance sprays are crafted with organic grape alcohol, a cleaner and more natural alternative to conventional solvents. This plant-based base evaporates quickly and evenly, allowing the fragrance to open beautifully without harsh chemicals or lingering residue.
SANCTUAIRE was born from this intersection of science, story, and sensory experience. With every fragrance we create, we aim to honor legacy — especially the legacy of historically Black coastal enclaves that inspired our Plage Noire Collection. These are places shaped by joy, resilience, community, and rest — values we believe the world needs more of.
Scents of Connection is where we’ll share the world behind our work: the inspirations, the histories, the creative processes, the wellness philosophies, and the everyday rituals that guide us. It will be equal parts storytelling and sanctuary — a place for reflection, discovery, and deeper connection.
